What happened to myUNCHealthLink?

On April 4, 2014, UNC Health Care transitioned to an improved online service called My UNC Chart. You may continue to use myUNCHealthLink to pay UNC Hospitals or UNC Faculty Physicians bills for care provided before April 4, 2014. Click here to go to myUNCHealthLink.

What is My UNC Chart?

On April 4, 2014, UNC Health Care started offering its patients personalized online access to portions of their medical record. My UNC Chart enables you to securely use the internet to help manage and receive information about your health. My UNC Chart may be used to:

How do I sign up?

1. Visit myuncchart.org.
2. Locate the First Time Users section of the website.
3. If you havenít been issued an activation code, click on "Sign Up". If you have been issued an activation code click on "Activate Your Account".
4. Once you follow the steps in either the Sign Up or Activate Your Account process, you will be able to create a username and password to sign into your account.

When can I see my test results in My UNC Chart?

Releasable test results are made available in your My UNC Chart account within 1-7 business days.

Are all test results shared electronically by way of My UNC Chart?

We believe that all test results should be shared with our patients, and many of these results you will be able to view electronically in your MY UNC Chart account. Some tests are of a sensitive nature and require careful and thoughtful conversation between you and your doctor. These types of tests results will be shared with you in person.

If found incorrect information on My UNC Chart, what should I do?

Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit. Ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next visit.

OR

With My UNC Chart, you can request the addition or removal of Current Health Issues, Medications, and Allergies.

1. Sign into My UNC Chart.
2. From the left menu select "My Medical Record".
3. Click the section you wish to modify (Current Health Issues, Medications, or Allergies).
4. To remove: Find the erroneous item and click on its remove button.
5. To add: Click the add button at the bottom right of the list.

Can I access another individualís health record in My UNC Chart?

Yes, if you are granted "proxy" access in My UNC Chart to the individual's information. Proxy access allows an individual to view certain information of another UNC Health Care patient. Proxy access will only be granted if, and only to the extent, deemed clinically appropriate and allowable under North Carolina and federal law. Proxy access is also conditioned to compliance with the My UNC Chart Terms and Conditions. To request Proxy access, click here to access the Sign Up page.

Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my account?

No, as written in the Terms and Conditions for My UNC Chart, your account must be used only to inquire about your health. If you have proxy access to a family member's account, you may ask questions about that family member using your proxy access. To learn how to obtain proxy access see the information described above.

My UNC Chart offers direct access to your personal health record and communicating about another individual's information would be placed in your health record. This information would not appear in the correct health record and could potentially jeopardize medical care.

Can my spouse and I share one My UNC Chart account?

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must sign and submit a Release of Information request and establish their own My UNC Chart account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online. You may also call UNC HealthLink at (888) 996-2767 to request a new, secure password.

I've lost or misplaced my activation code. Can I get a new one?

Yes. Call UNC HealthLink at (888) 996-2767. We will verify your information and send you a new code.

4. After completing the sign up form, we will process your request and send you a new code.

What are Hoax Emails?

Hoax emails or 'Phishing' is a scam that uses fraudulent emails to entice people to surrender their sign on information. The emails are crafted to look like a legitimate email and often contain links to authentic looking but fraudulent websites.

UNC Health Care will NEVER request account or password information from you via email. If you receive an email requesting this sort of information and it appears to be from UNC Health Care, delete it and report it by contacting us immediately at (888) 996-2767. Do not reply to the email.

I was signed out of My UNC Chart, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and the security of your information. While signed into My UNC Chart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically signed out of My UNC Chart. We recommend that you sign out of your My UNC Chart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use My UNC Chart?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Internet Explorer). After youíve created an account on the full site, you can use a mobile device with an iOS or Android operating system, which both support the My UNC Chart mobile application.
