We believe that all test results should be shared with our patients, and many of these results you will be able to view electronically in your MY UNC Chart account. Some tests are of a sensitive nature and require careful and thoughtful conversation between you and your doctor. These types of tests results will be shared with you in person.Return to Top

Yes. Access to another person's health information in My UNC Chart allows an individual to view certain information of another UNC Health Care patient. No, as written in the Terms and Conditions for My UNC Chart, your account must be used only to inquire about your health. If you have access to another person's account then you may ask questions about that family member using your access to that account. My UNC Chart offers direct access to your personal health record and communicating about another individual's information would be placed in your health record. This information would not appear in the correct health record and could potentially jeopardize medical care.Return to Top

Hoax emails or 'Phishing' is a scam that uses fraudulent emails to entice people to surrender their sign on information. The emails are crafted to look like a legitimate email and often contain links to authentic looking but fraudulent websites.
UNC Health Care will NEVER request account or password information from you via email. If you receive an email requesting this sort of information and it appears to be from UNC Health Care, delete it and report it by contacting us immediately at (888) 996-2767. We aim to protect your privacy and the security of your information. While signed into My UNC Chart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically signed out of My UNC Chart. A warning message will appear letting you know you are about to time out. If you have blocked your pop-up windows feature you will not see the warning.
We recommend that you sign out of your My UNC Chart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.Return to Top

After you’ve created an account on the full site, you can use a mobile device with an iOS or Android operating system, which both support the My UNC Chart mobile application.
